High school students caught consuming drugs in hostel

Hassan: A video of high school students bringing drugs into and consuming them in their hostel has gone viral, setting alarm bells ringing in the district. The boys’ hostel comes under the jurisdiction of the Samaj Taluk Welfare Department in Belur Bikkodi. The boys have been accused of being drug addicts. The video of the minor children consuming ganja along with beedi, cigarettes and alcoholic whitener has surfaced. This is not the first time such a thing has happened. Earlier, there was an incident of a drug addict assaulting the hostel warden when the matter came to light. The local community has expressed grave concern over the incident and is asking authorities to clamp down on this practice and admit the minors to a Rehabilitation Center for treatment.  They have demanded that those supplying drugs to the students be identified and prosecuted
