Hassan: The turnover of the Hassan Milk Union for the financial year 2023-24 has been calculated at Rs.  2,203.53 crore, an increase of 12.32 percent over the previous year.

For the year 2023-24, pre-tax profit is Rs. 5.30 crore. In this, as per the bylaws of the union, after deducting income tax, the remaining net profit is Rs. 3.61 crore, which has been distributed to the member associations as bonus and dividend and other forms as per the byelaws.

A total of Rs. 1,549.39 crore in 2023-24 was paid to the producers in the form of installments by the unions, which amount to 10 percent of the turnover. At 70.29 per cent, Hassan’s alliance leads among the alliances giving the highest buy-in rate.

The purchase price is being revised keeping in mind the interests of the union and the producers.

A total of Rs. 549.0 crore was invested in construction of four mega dairy capacity (expandable to 15 lakh litres) and construction of 60 mt milk powder plant, civil works, supply of machinery and installation works by KMF to commission the mega dairy plant by October 2024 and milk powder plant by March   2025.

There is daily supply of 1.75 lakh litres of milk by the Hassan Milk Union to Hyderabad city and other cities of Telangana state. 

A request has been submitted to the Chief Minister of Telangana State to provide about 30 acres of land for dairy construction near Hyderabad city at a concessional rate. The sites have been identified through the Industrial Development Corporation and steps will be taken to acquire the land from the Telangana government in the near future.

In the current year, to purchase and provide stationery to facilitate the studies of students in government degree colleges, and high schools under Hassan Milk Union, Rs. 4.0 lakh will be allocated.

 In the 2023, education of children of milk producers in rural areas was sponsored by the union.  For children of milk producers, who have passed with more than 90 marks, their PUC course fee was taken care of by the union.

The Hassan Milk Union Hamool Raitha Kalyan Trust also spent over Rs 18 lakh on funding students pursuing professional courses such as MBBS, B.Tech and Agriculture. 

In the year 2024 as well, preliminary phase activities have been carried out in connection with giving Pratibha Puraskar on behalf of Hamool Raitha Kalyan Trust of the Hassan Milk Union.
