International Democracy Day celebrated with aplomb in Hassan

Hassan: A human chain formation programme from Hosahalli in Kadavi of Arakalagudu taluk to Chennapur border in Belur taluk was successfully organized on Sunday morning from 9.30 to 10 am as part of International Democracy Day.

The Preamble of the Constitution of India was read out in a programme organized at Siddhartha Nagar, Belur Road.

Shreyas Patel, Member of Parliament, Hassan, said that forming a human chain of 2,500 km from Bidar to Chamarajanagar as part of International Democracy Day was a historical record.

He said it will be included in the pages of history.

“This programme is a symbol of brotherhood, and pride of being a citizen of India.  I congratulate all those who worked day and night to make the programme a success, irrespective of caste. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar said that everyone is evolving under the Constitution given by him,” he said.

MLA Swaroop Prakash congratulated the government on the occasion, saying that more than one lakh people participated in the human chain formation programme as part of International Democracy Day and that it was a historic event.

 Schoolchildren, especially, participated in this programme in large numbers.

Prakash congratulated the officials who worked hard for several days for the success of the programme.

He said that as per the Constitution, everyone has equal rights. District Collector Sathyabhama spoke about the document as being the biggest Constitution in the world. She said we should uphold and embody the values ​​of our Constitution as it is a gift given by our predecessors.

The human chain formation programme saw participation by the district administration, school and college students, all associations, officers and staff and members of the public as well.
