Bengaluru: Candidates applying for Group-D, Group-C and Group-B posts in the Karnataka State Civil Services have appealed to the Government to take up recruitment, but the latter has been postponing filling of vacancies in various departments first due to Covid-19 epidemic and later due to other reasons.
Due to this, the age limit of the candidates has increased and they are now deprived of recruitment opportunities, leading to unemployment and professional stagnation. They have, therefore, requested the government to relax the maximum age limit currently fixed in the direct recruitment policy of the state government.
Having reviewed the pleas received thus, the government has decided to grant relaxation in upper age limit for direct recruitment to State Civil Services as a “one-time measure”.
A government gazette notification dated 10 September, 2024, has said that in the light of the points outlined in the proposal, orders have already been issued for filling up Group-C and Group-B posts of various departments in the State Civil Services through direct recruitment and notifications will be issued accordingly over the next one year for all categories.
It has been ordered to give a relaxation of three years in maximum age limit to candidates as a one-time measure.
This order was issued as per the resolution of the Cabinet meeting in case No: 474/2024 dated 05 September 2024.
