




Hassan: The orientation day for first-year engineering students of Malnad College of Engineering (MCE) was organized recently.
Inaugurating the programme, retired ISRO Chairman, AS Kiran Kumar, said that in the context of recent scientific developments, we should take advantage of our hard work and show the world what we are capable of.
He said the Chandrayaan mission had catapulted India into the big league, and that it will contribute to the development of the country in a big way.
He also highlighted the importance of scientific temper and the spirit of inquiry and said that inquisitive minds would take the country very far.
“Today’s technology helps students learn many things. Apart from scoring good marks, attention should also be given to skill development,” he added.
The programme was presided over by the vice-president of Malnad Institute of Technical Education, GL Mudegowda. Principal of the college, Dr. AJ Krishnaiah, made a presentation about all the departments of the college and the facilities available to students.
DB Hemant Kumar, director of Malnad Institute of Technical Education, and a host of other dignitaries were present.
College Placement Officer, BB Nilakantappa, compeered the programme.
