Hassan: Arkalgud MLA A. Manju has said that a massive protest is being organized in the city by the Janata Dal (Secular) on 3 October 2024 demanding that the government immediately suspend police officer and Lokayukta ADGP Chandrasekhar for using unsavoury language against Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy.
Talking to reporters in the city on Tuesday, he said the words used by then officer are an insult to a representative of the people, and action must be taken against such “misdemeanor”.
Former MLA HK Kumaraswamy said that the Union Minister was targeted by ADGP Chandrasekhar, and this should have been objected to by the state government, but there is silence all around. Such behavior is disrespecting to the Constitution of India.
“The unsavoury language, which was part of an official document, has gone viral on social media, putting the government in bad light,” he said.
Before being appointed to a government post, officers are supposed to take an oath to abide the rules of decorum, but that has been violated, he said.
JDS district president KS Lingesh, MLA Swaroop Prakash, Taluk Presidents S. Dyave Gowda, Manje Gowda, and the party’s media spokesperson, Hongere Raghu, were present at the press conference.
