Hassan: Janata Dal (Secular) leaders have strongly condemned what they call the “outrageous behaviour” of M Chandrasekhar, IPS officer and head of the Karnataka Lokayukta Special Investigation Team, who has reportedly used unsavoury language against Union Minister of Steel and Heavy Industries and JDS state president HD Kumaraswamy.

“Chandrasekhar, who is originally a Himachal Pradesh cadre officer, created a false document and stayed in Karnataka.  We strongly condemn the statements made by politicians to placate the state government and ministers so that his stay will not be jeopardized.  According to the rules, he has to serve in Karnataka for five years and then go back to HP, but is staying here on the pretext that his wife is sick and the environment is not suitable for him.  For all this, they have created a false document and practically absorbed him into the Karnataka IPS force.  This is unacceptable,” they claim.

The leaders allege that the IPS officer is involved in several criminal cases and complaints have been filed against him in various police stations and courts.

“His criticism of a two-time Chief Minister is not acceptable to us. We demand that he be suspended and disciplinary action be taken against him,” they said.
