Hassan: Founder of Swasthya Jeevan Marga Yoga Pratisthan of Nagamangala, Sriyutha Laxman KH Guruji, conducted a two-day long programme titled Yoga for Better Health for first-year students of Navkis Engineering College in the city beginning Tuesday.

Speaking at the camp, he said Yoga provided a holistic approach to health and wellness and helped restore balance in our busy lives.

“More than just exercise, it is a way to empower oneself, both in body and mind.  Today’s life is moving so fast, that everyone should make yoga a habit. Bringing our lives in tune with nature and eating good food are needs of the hour,” he said.

“Amidst our stressful lives, we have been ignoring basic dietary disciplines by consuming food containing chemicals without paying attention to our health. As a consequence, we have left out natural foods and instead are eating the most expensive foods available in the markets.  Due to this, diseases like blood pressure, diabetes and heart attacks are becoming common. A man who was supposed to live for about 80-100 years is dying nowadays before crossing 60. This is unwise,” he added.

Yoga is that “Ramabaana”, which will bring much-needed sanity into our lives and improve our wellbeing, he added.

College Principal Dr. M Venugopal Rao and professors Dr.  Mohan Kumar and Dr. Manjunath were present at the camp.
