Navkis College of Engineering students advised to ace technical skills through knowledge of natural law

Hassan: In a seminar on technology organized by the IEEE student unit of Navkis College of Engineering in the city on Monday, Senior Advisor of University of Twente, Netherlands, Dr. Pito Commorsa said that in today’s globalised world, jobs require constant effort at a better understanding of nature and natural principles.

“You must know the laws of nature. These insights can be obtained through basic scientific research,” he said.

“Technology is properly referred to as any application of science to accomplish a task.  Science may be cutting-edge or streamlined and the work, more visible or significantly more mundane, but all technology and its abuse can underpin all competitive advantage,” he affirmed.

He also said that technology-based planning was first used to build industry and then transform nations into superpowers.

“Technology-based planning has evolved to implementing unprecedented levels of speed, efficiency and agility, and the process of determining whether to use technology to gain a competitive advantage is now automated, and therefore, the student must develop knowledge in accordance with the times,” he said.

Principal Dr. M. Venugopal Rao, in his speech, said that students should not only learn new ways of making discoveries along with their education, but also develop the attitude of analyzing right and wrong.

Head of the Electronics and Communications department, Dr.  Babita Jain, and programme coordinator Deepak introduced the chief guest on the occasion.
