Elephant attacks Alur farmer in surprise ambush

Hassan: A tragedy took place on Tuesday morning in Hollahalli village of Alur taluk where a young man was attacked by an elephant and injured while he was harvesting corn in his farm.

When the farmer and his team were harvesting corn in the outer zone of the village, the jumbo pounced upon them from behind and attacked them. 

In the rush to escape, the farmer, 25-year-old Mallikarjuna, stumbled and received minor injuries.

He has been admitted to the Hassan District Hospital for treatment.
