Bengaluru: Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, H.D. Kumaraswamy, has said that the Congress government in Karnataka is spreading blatant lies with respect to matters concerning Hindustan Machine and Tools (HMT) and the Kudremukh Iron and Ore Corporation (KIOCL).
The Minister was speaking at a press conference convened at the Janata Dal (Secular) state office in Bengaluru on Thursday.
“The Congress government should not play politics on KIOCL. If there is a problem, let us sit down, conduct discussions and fix them. I am working on saving public-owned industries in Karnataka. I will soon write to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre over this matter,” he said.
“Let’s have a meeting on the issue, and I will speak with documents and proof. If there are any mistakes in the administration of KIOCL, I will personally take responsibility for the same, as I am the Minister of that department currently. Apart from that, I feel it is not right to do politics in such matters, that too against the interests of our state,” he said.
