Celebrate Hassanamba festival like your own: Appeal by DC

Hassan: The Hassanamba festival to be held for nine days from October 24, 2024, should be celebrated as the festival of our town, District Collector C.  Satyabhama has urged.

Addressing people during an inauguration of the website of the Hasanamba festival on Saturday at the Hassan Medical College auditorium in the city, she said all officials should work hard to ensure that the Hassanamba Utsav is held well for the nine days.

“We must take ownership of the festival because it is the soul of the land we live in. This time, around 20 lakh devotees are expected to come for darshan of the deity, and the authorities should work sincerely to ensure everyone has a smooth visit. They should also be vigilant to prevent any untoward incident during the period,” she added.

She said that a preliminary meeting had already been held to allocate responsibilities to various departments such as the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, City Municipal Council, Chescom, Food and Civil Supplies, Police and Kannada and Culture.

Later, Hassanamba Festival Administrator and Hassan Deputy Divisional Officer, Maruti, explained to the officials about their responsibilities and the importance of this festival.
