Hassan: The noted Sapna Book House is gaining popularity across India, and is now in Hassan too. Now 57 years old, Sapna presently has 21 stores – 11 in Bengaluru, one each in Mysore, Mangaluru. Hubbali, Dharwad, Kalaburgi and Belagavi, two in Coimbatore, one at Erode, one in New Delhi, and now is opening its 22nd store in Hassan city.
The store at Hassan measures 13,000 sq.ft. and hosts a vast range of English and Kannada books as well as over 250 categories of non-books products comprising stationery, gifts, toys and sports items, arts and crafts, office supplies, gadgets and accessories, food and chocolates among others.
To its credit, Sapna Book House has also received the Rajyotsava Award for Kannada book publication, and the Best Publishers Award from the Karnataka Government. It has also been conferred with the Chanakya Award for the best publisher in 2017 and the Golden Award from FBPAI in 2024. Sapna has also been recognised by the Limca Book of Records and the India Book of Records as the largest book showroom in India.

Lately, there has been a lot of talk about self-publication. The group now offers “Sapna Ink” – a convenient self publisher, which presents authors with publishing packages and marketing services such as book launch and retail facilities. Sapna Book House also has an online presence through its e-commerce website sapnaonline.com, which provides a convenient and secure shopping experience on the web.

Sapna Book House has many other offers such as a new school vertical, ‘MagicSkool’, which supplies books and stationery to schools.
It also boasts of India’s first virtual bookstore – Sapna Kiosk – with more than 20 million titles to select from across the globe. Sapna has also ventured into the children’s book space under the brand ‘Diyara Press’.
