Akshara Book House celebrates a glorious decade

Hassan: Famous author Bhanu Mushtaq has expressed regret over the “culture of internet” growing fast among in today’s young generation. While inaugurating the 10th anniversary celebration of Akshara Book House in the city, she said it was difficult to keep children away from mobile phones during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Books are very important for growth. The role of parents is therefore essential in developing the habit of reading among children. Book selling is not just a business.  To build a country culturally, a literary culture is very necessary.  Else, the human mind goes astray. Today, the love for Kannada books is also on the wane. Kannada bookstores and libraries are the only place where moral education can be expected. It is imperative to make available more bookstores for the people so they can grow,” she added.

“Gangadhar Sivakumar, the owner, and his team members are to be lauded for their involvement in spreading an eco-friendly lifestyle. I wish the team a 100-year glory in their efforts to spread positivity in society,” she said in conclusion.

Gangadhar spoke on the occasion saying that the reason for the 10-year long journey is the love and support of the people.
