Hassan: Another aspirant for the post of president to the Hassan district state government employees association, Shivaswamy, has claimed support of over 55 directors in the poll process.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, he said that out of the 74 directors authorized to elect the president, more than 55 directors were in favour of his faction.
“No matter what the sops the other faction promises, this time, most directors have expressed their preference for the Shivaswamy faction. They are saying they will choose the president of our faction without succumbing to any lures,” he said.
Shivaswamy, who is aspiring for the president’s post this time, worked as secretary last time and has gained the trust of many employees. Another candidate contesting for the post of president is KM Srinivas.
Srinivas lost the polls last time by just one vote. However, Srinivas and Shivaswamy have come to an agreement and prepared a power-sharing formula, according to which Srinivas will serve as president for the first half of the term and Shivaswamy for the remaining part.
In this regard, more than 55 newly elected directors have indicated their support to our faction, he said at a press conference.
