Hassan: Rajiv Institute of Technology (RIT) in the city has been awarded “A” grade accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), said Dr. Rachana Rajiv, Chairperson of Rajiv Group of Educational Institutions.
She was speaking at a press conference organized in the city on Tuesday.
The NAAC team visited the college on November 14 and 15 and inspected all the facilities available in the institution.
The “A” grade accreditation was given based on the assessment of curriculum elements, teaching-learning and assessment methods, research, innovation and extensions, infrastructure and learning resources, student support and progress, administration, leadership and management, and institutional values.
The founder-president of the institution, the late Dr. Rajiv, although a paediatrician, had a vision for the development of Hassan and the educational sector in particular.
For the same reason, he established educational institutions through the Rajiv Education Trust.
As a result of his vision, thousands of children are getting quality education today.
“We are determined to provide the best quality education to students of this region by maintaining and expanding the institution built and nurtured by our father Dr. Rajiv, while following the path he believed in. We intend to establish a medical college in the near future as well,” Dr Rachana said.
Secretary of the Rajiv Group of Institutions, Dr. B.N. Ratna, and Vice-President Dr. Ranjit Rajiv spoke on the occasion.
RIT Principal Dr. P. K. Mahesh and Rajiv Ayurveda College Principal Dr. S.A. Nitin were present at the press meet.
