Award ceremony at Vijaya School in Hassan

Hassan: Vijaya School, Hassan, hosted a grand two-day award ceremony on December 13 and 14, 2024, to celebrate the achievements of its students and recognize their excellence in various fields. The event witnessed an inspiring lineup of dignitaries and meaningful discussions that highlighted the institution’s focus on holistic development.

The President, Y.N. Subbaswamy, and Founder-Director, Tara S. Swamy, presided over the occasion. The chief guests on the first day were Dr. Bharathi G., a renowned psychiatrist from Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), and Hamsa Natraj, advocate and alumna of the school.

Also present were Academic Head Dr. Shreelakshmi S. and Principal Nandeesha K.S., who graced the stage and contributed to the proceedings.

Dr. Shreelakshmi addressed the gathering by recounting the year-long activities conducted at the school. She highlighted the institution’s innovative approach to fostering family bonds and developing the “Panchakosha” model for holistic growth in children.

The audience appreciated her insights on how these activities were tailored to be child-friendly and enriching.

Dr. Bharathi G. emphasized the pressing issue of mobile phone addiction among children and its adverse effects on emotional well-being and personal growth. She urged parents to monitor their children’s screen-time and encourage constructive hobbies to mitigate this growing concern.

Hamsa Natraj, reflecting on her alma mater, praised the school for shaping young minds with strong values and a progressive vision.

A special token of appreciation, a piggy bank, was presented to all preparatory students, symbolizing the school’s efforts to instill financial literacy from an early age.

The second day of the ceremony saw a new set of distinguished guests, Rotarian A. Harish Babu, Dr. Abhinandan K.S., Prasanna D.T and Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) of Hassan, H.K. Pandu, alongside the President, Founder-Director, Academic Head, and Principal.

The speakers on this day shared their views on the school’s contributions to academic excellence and value-based education.

The event concluded on an encouraging note, leaving a warm impact on students, parents and faculty.
