Hassan: “Instead of establishing new medical colleges and providing more and more doctors to society, the government, universities and colleges should focus on improving the health of the people and making them healthy,” Dr. Ramnath, Syndicate Member of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, has said.

He was speaking after inaugurating the student development and college anniversary programme titled “Vismaya-2024” organized at the Rajiv Ayurveda University in Hassan.

“Creating a healthy society is the responsibility of all of us. Protecting the health of society is essential for the progress of the country,” Dr Ramnath added.

“Ayurveda has given all the principles that a person needs, to be healthy. Not everyone is aware of this. The work of delivering this knowledge needs to be done by Ayurvedic professionals,” he affirmed.

On the occasion, Janamitra newspaper Managing Editor C. R. Naveen said that Rajiv Ayurveda University had made a name for itself in the country by providing high-quality education in a very short period of time. The hospital also provides good Panchakarma Ayurveda treatments.

“It is very inspiring to note that patients are coming to the college from other states, for treatment. Ayurveda is a cure for all diseases. Everyone should take advantage of it,” he said.

College Principal Dr. S. A. Nitin spoke on the occasion and said that the students of Rajiv Ayurveda University have secured many ranks with excellent results in the university examinations over the last five years.

“The college emphasizes on good Ayurvedic education and is currently attracting students from all districts of Karnataka as well as surrounding states. In the future, along with opening a postgraduate institute, a world-class hospital will also be started by us,” he said.

Rajiv Group Vice-President Dr. Ranjit Rajiv and Secretary Dr. B.N.  Ratna were present at the programme and spoke.

Staff from various divisions who are top contributors, as well as students who have achieved in sports, culture and academics were honoured by the institution on the occasion.
