Hassan: Education is essential to inculcate manners in children and parents have a vital role to play to instill the right values, Dr.V.K Abdul Bashir, President, Janapriya Foundation here said.
Dr. Bashir who was speaking at the talent award programme organized by Helping Hand Forum for talented children of the Muslim community who scored more than 90 percent marks in SSLC and PUC, observed: “Only through education can you change your life. Indeed, it is necessary to be educated to lead a good life.” The programme was held recently at the Quba Hall in Sharif Colony.
He said children should get rid of their addiction to mobile phones and use them only when necessary. Parents should educate children without discrimination between boys and girls. The children should be motivated to dream of high positions to render service to society, going beyond the traditional pursuit of medical and engineering degrees. They should be oriented to appear for competitive exams in this regard as new avenues of professional activity open up like data science and Artificial Intelligence.
“Today, children of all races are getting education and getting good opportunities. Similarly, children in the Muslim community are also getting opportunities in many fields through education, which is a good development in the society,” said Municipal Council President M. Chandregowda.
He said that change in society is possible only through education. Students should learn good manners and courtesy along with education.
Former Municipal Council President CR Shankar said that everyone in society should live in brotherhood, so that a better society can be built. Education is the source of all these aspirations. Children should bring a good name to their parents through education and also contribute to the society. On this occasion, several talented children were honoured in the programme.
