Hassan: In an attempt to bring out the truth of the freedom struggle, the play ‘I will tell the truth’ will be performed on January 8 at 6 pm at the Hassanamba Art Centre in the city, Kodagu Theatre Trust President Addandda Kariappa has said.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, he said that through this play, the words of the freedom fighters and the dialogues of all the leaders will be portrayed through 12 characters.

“It is the result of extensive official research into history books and documents. To bring out the truth before and after Independence, it is necessary to visit and re-examine history. The truth that was not in the texts so far is being conveyed through this play. It is our duty to convey the real history to the people,” he said.

Kariappa said that the play is a result of herculean efforts on part of researchers and artists.

“This is a three-hour show and 20 performances have already been given so far. Ten houseful performances have been seen in Mysore. We have performed in Chitradurga, Davangere, Chamarajanagar, Bangalore, and Mandya districts,” he added.

“We have also performed in Arasikere and Shimoga, and soon will go to Sirsi,” he added.

The show will be staged at Hassanamba Kalakshetra and the ticket price has been fixed at Rs.100 (One hundred only).
