Hassan: A “transformation curriculum” called “Janapriya Start Program” for newly admitted students to the Popular Nursing and Paramedical College, as well as affiliated institutions of Janapriya Foundation, was inaugurated by Dr. Rajanna, Director of HIMS, in Hassan on Tuesday.
Speaking during the inauguration, Dr. Rajanna said that Popular Nursing and Paramedical College was providing a good education, and its chief Dr. Basheer was working with commitment owing to which such success has been achieved.
He said that this success did not come to him from day one. “If we want to achieve success, we should follow his philosophy and pay more attention to education. There is no difference between doctors, nurses or paramedics. We all serve only to save lives. Nurses, in fact, serve patients more in terms of time than doctors do,” he added.
The chief guests were H.P. Mohan, who congratulated Dr. Abdul Basheer on behalf of the people of the district for his service in the health and education sectors.
He said such good educational institutions had been established only with hard work. “Students studying nursing and paramedical courses should develop a spirit of service and dedication in their lives. Those studying here should pay more attention to education,” he believed.
Presiding over the programme, Dr. V K Abdul Basheer, President of the Popular Foundation, said that the organization was paying more attention to health and education, by establishing institutions in the hinterland to educate students from distant regions.
“We started the Popular Nursing and Paramedical College three years ago, wherein we provide a good education to students and instill in them a spirit of service and awareness about the environment,” he said.
On the occasion, winners of the Karnataka Working Journalists Association Annual Award 2025 – Atikhuru Rehman, K.B. Manjunath and Nandan Puttana – were honoured.
The programme was graced by chief guests Fatima Nasreen Basheer, Vice-President of the Popular Foundation, Dr. Ravikumar, Principal of Royal Apollo School, Dr. Kiran Kumar, Principal of the Popular Central School, and Libin Xavier, Principal of the Popular Nursing College.
