Hassan: Recently, Krishi Mahavidyalaya, Hassan, which is affiliated to the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bengaluru, held an exhibition on insects in collaboration with the Red Cross Society of India, Hassan, Veterinary College, HDFC Bank Limited and the Institute of Agricultural Engineers, and its partners in the city. District Collector C. Satyabhama and District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Poornima visited the exhibition and expressed their appreciation for the amazing presentations on insects spanning four days at Red Cross Bhawan.
This huge body of work has been undertaken by a team consisting of postgraduate students of Entomology, Food Technology and Biotechnology and teaching and non-teaching staff of the College of Agriculture, Hassan. The show has impressed students of various schools and colleges across the city. “The display was very different and an immersive experience,” the Collector said, adding that such exhibitions should continue to satisfy the general public’s curiosity and passion for research on insects.
Ms. Purnima expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the postgraduate students and entomology department. Dean of Krishi Mahavidyalaya, Dr. K.N. Muniswami Gowda, faculty Dr. B. S. Basavaraju, Dr. Sunita, Dr. Harshita and students of the postgraduate department were present on the occasion.
