





Hassan: Final-year students of the Agricultural College of Hassan recently conducted a camp at Koravangala village of Dudda Hobli in Hassan Taluk, as part of their rural work experience project.
At the camp, they worked on installation of insect nets in farmlands in an initiative aimed at crop protection.
Dr. TR Sunita, Assistant Professor, Department of Entomology, Hassan Krishi Mahavidyalaya, was the resource person for the programme.
Staff of Farm Root Company also participated in the programme.
As part of the camp, information was given to farmers about different types of insect traps to be used to protect crops.
Farmers were also informed about the effects of insect traps and their uses. Some traps such bucket trap and water trap were offered to them at highly discounted prices, and they were installed in coconut, tomato, chilli and nut farms in the area by the team of students.
Farmers on their part expressed happiness with the knowledge given by the students and the technological value-addition offered by the company.
