Hassan: District Collector C. Sathyabama and seven other officials were recently honoured by the state government for excellence in work.

Assistant Commissioner Maruti J.B., five tehsildars and one village administration officer — the other officials — were presented awards by Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda recently. 

It is said that this is the first time such an award is being given to the district. 

Hassan district got the lion’s share of awards given by the government to District Collectors, Assistant Commissioners, Tehsildars and Village Administrative Officers across Karnataka in recognition of the outstanding service in matters of revenue administration.

The other officials who received the awards are tehsildars MG Santosh Kumar, Rukiya Begum, Basavaradeppa Ronada, Shweta M. Ravindra, KK Krishnamurthy and village administrator Mohan G Kumar.

Owing to the dynamism and efficiency of the revenue department officials in the district, Hassan has been ranked first in Karnataka in implementation of many schemes/plans of the state government.

“Our district has topped in the state in land application registration for the last nine months.  While it has been ranked first in matters of land conversion over the past seven months, it has also ranked first in food quality and safety.  The district is ranked second in Sakala scheme implementation and fifth in AJSK,” the Collector said.

Out of 9,396 cases pending in the district, 7,451 were solved in the last six months.  The “E-office” concept has been successfully implemented  in all taluk offices. In addition, a total of 56 revenue villages have been identified in Hassan district Of these, 33 have been identified in Arasikere Taluk alone. 

Emphasis on case settlement

Various disputes mainly in the courts of the District Collector and the Assistant Commissioner have also been solved. Out of 946 pending cases in the District Collector’s court, 712 cases have been disposed of.

As many as 1,291 cases out of a total 1,430 cases pending in the Hassan AC’s court have been closed.

Also, 29 cases have been closed in the Sakleshpur AC’s court out of 901 pending cases, in the last six months.
