Hassan: Shreyas M. Patel, Member of the Hassan Lok Sabha segment, has urged thousands of fans from the Holenarasipur assembly constituency to participate in the divisional-level “Swabhimani convention” organized by the Alliance of Backward and Exploited Communities in Hassan on December 5.
This is with a view to strengthening the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Addressing a meeting at the SG Anupama Rice Mill premises in the town on Saturday, he told Congress leaders and workers that the convention will be ‘iconic’ and berated the BJP-JD(S) combine for allegedly making baseless allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who he believed had clean hands. The Chief Minister has been accused of corruption recently, the prime case being with respect to allotment of lands by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
“The main objective of this grand convention is to give an answer to all the allegations levelled against our Chief Minister and to inform the people in detail about the development programmes undertaken by our government. The convention will be attended by several dignitaries including the Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister, Congress party national leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and more than 5 lakh fans,” the MP said.
He said that by maintaining unity at every stage, Congress leaders and workers should create awareness about the importance of the convention in every village and at least 50,000 fans should come out from the Holenarasipur assembly constituency.
KPCC member Anupama Mahesh, Block Congress President H T Lakshman, Congress leaders Manjegowda, Puttegowda, Girish, L D Basavaraju, Sudarshan Babu, Shruti, Ramachandra, Guarantee Implementation Committee Chairman Shivakumar, KDP members K K Lokesh, Suresh HR, Prasad, Mohammed Riaz, B M Basavaraju, Ara Rangaswamy, GP former member Prasanna, along with hundreds of Congress leaders and activists were present in the meeting.
